Class 1B/Class 3 Classification & Use


Project output - BCA amendments to clarify the use of Class 1b and/or Class 3 buildings as special accommodation for children, the aged and people with a disability, and to specify an appropriate level of fire safety for those uses.

This project seeks to clarify whether a Class 1b building can or should be used as special accommodation for children, the aged and people with a disability, and whether the level of fire safety provided in a Class 1b is appropriate for those types of occupants.
