Fire Safety in Early Childhood Centres

  • An evaluation of the adequacy of BCA fire safety provisions for Early Childhood Centres in upper levels of multi-storey buildings.

In response to concerns that BCA fire safety requirements for certain early childhood centres may not be adequate the ABCB commissioned a consultant to evaluate and report on international and national fire safety requirements for early childhood centres in upper levels of multi-storey buildings, The consultant was required to draw conclusions on the adequacy of BCA requirements in consideration of COAG principles for regulation setting.

The content of the consultant's report is currently under consideration by the ABCB.
