Salinity and Acid Sulphate Soils


  • Board decision on whether BCA should address provisions for construction on land subject to salinity and acid-sulphate soils.

Damage caused to buildings by salt attack and acid sulphate soils is a growing problem affecting Australia’s building stock. It is primarily caused by the construction of buildings in saline areas and areas containing acid sulphate soils.  Consultation document is being considered by the BCC for recommendations to the Board.
